Meet Cory:

Cory Chadwick is the founder of The Personal Greatness Project, empowering teenagers and young adults to thrive in a quickly changing world, and realize their potential as their greatest authentic selves.

Having survived a brain virus in his teens, Cory was forced to make a choice – a choice we all have to make – about who he wanted to be and what kind of life he wanted to live. Cory could have let his illness define and limit him, but instead he chose to take a stand against mediocrity. He was determined to discover what he was capable of so he can live up to his potential.

He believes there’s something great inside each one of us just waiting to come out, and we’re capable of amazing things when it does. That belief led to Cory selling his successful restaurant and bar business so he could commit to impacting lives and making a difference. He’s a proud husband and father, a passionate speaker, and mentor to teens and twenty somethings to upgrade their personal operating systems in order to function optimally in the world.

Quotes:

"I really do believe every single one of us has something great inside waiting to come out and I was not going to be the exception to that rule."

"If I can't say, definitively, that I lived a 10 out of 10 kick ass kind of life, then I'm doing something wrong right now and I need to change it."

"The same way your computer or your phone have an operating system... that operating system gets upgraded every year. Tech changes so quickly it needs to catch up so it can perform at an optimal level. We've got operating systems that have never been updated. They've never been upgraded."

"The Personal Greatness Project is an upgrade to your operating system so you can do more, be more, accomplish more, love more, be happier, be successful without it having to be a strain."

"Life's not gonna be easy and nobody's doing any favours by telling you that it will be. I'd much rather be prepared for the hard times than be blindsided by them."

"Anything from worst to best, and everything in between is a choice. So you can choose your 5 out of ten, your 6 out of 10, or your 10 out of 10."

"It is not easier to live a 5 out of 10 life than it is to live a 10 out of 10 life. It takes so much effort. It's so much hard work to tread water in life."

"If you're going to go build a house, would you do it with just a screwdriver and a hammer, or would you fully equip yourself with all the tools that you need to really build an awesome house?"

"Taking a stand makes it non-negotiable."

"We make thousands of decisions a day. If I can make as many decisions as I can with the idea of 'this is who I want to be' as my decision-making criteria, it's amazing what you create thinking that way."

[Cory on ending an 8 out of 10 relationship]
"I had to make peace with being alone--and the idea I might not get to be a dad, and I might not ever get married--I had to make real peace with that. Otherwise, I would have forced my way into a different relationship."

[Cory on ending an 8 out of 10 relationship cont'd]
"If you don't say goodbye to your 8, you won't ever get to say hi to your 10."

"When I say it is never too late to be the person you want to be and the person you are capable of being, I would say that no matter [how old you are and what you've been through] there's absolutely nothing you can do about anything that has happened before this very moment right now."

"Unless you are 95 and on your deathbed with two more minutes to go, you've got time to be who you want to be."

"You don't have to wait from the time you to start to start getting a payoff. You will see things happen right away. You will feel differently right away. That will build and build the more you're doing it."

"Where you are now is irrelevant. How long it took for you to get here is irrelevant. It's what comes next, and it's all about what comes next. It is all up to you."

"You cannot go back in time and write a new beginning, but you decide how your story ends."
