The Self-Explorer’s Manifesto

A self explorer is the source of their own happiness. They distinguish and eliminate the ways of being that uses things and others to avoid themselves.

The self explorer accepts responsibility for the decisions that have led to her current reality and claims power over the choices that will impact her future. The self explorer knows she's growing when she steps outside her comfort zone.

Well being and integrity are the cornerstone of the self explorer's vision in action.

Their philosophy is that happiness and success is available in the here and now, not some distant future. Through daily practice, they align their life, work and relationships with their core values.

Greater self awareness is their key to understanding themselves and the world. They invest in themselves through reading, exposing themselves to new experiences, new people, new forms of expression.

Self-explorers are multi-dimensional. They diversify who they are as human beings allowing their inner desire to guide them towards different interests, skills, and expertise.

The self explorer is empowered by their tribe. Their tribe helps keep them at their growth edge. They help each other feel seen, heard, known, loved, and understood.

The self explorer notices the cycles that have caused misadventures in his life and works hard to avoid repeating the past. No matter how painful or uncomfortable it may be, he shines a light on his darkest parts, he digs deep into his story. He does this because he knows he and others will be better for it.

The self explorer strives towards living from her brilliance and not her childhood wounds.

The self explorer questions what is normal. He is not ruled by dogma. Whether something is old or has wide spread acceptance it doesn't stop him from innovating, questioning and searching for truth. When a self explorer discovers something better that serves themselves and the world, they step forth in that direction.

The self explorer yearns for their highest purpose and passion. Even if they might not know what IT is yet, they can still be purpose-FUL and passion-ATE.

They feel the pressures of the gifts they want to share with the world. A gift that is a unique blend of their talents, values, perspective, and authentic self expression.

Yes, the self explorer experiences fear, faces rejection, suffers shame, and embarrassment. They can also be the most doubtful, self deprecating, procrastinators like anyone else. Even still, whatever resistance or fear shows up, they feel the fear, then act anyway. They don't wait until perfection or fearlessness.

The self explorer knows life isn't a straight line and that breakdowns are part of the process.

Just like they own their failures, they own their successes too. They work to eliminate excuses, hold themselves to a high standard, and demand others to do the same. They crave consistency and work to be mindful in all acts large or small because "how you do anything, is how you do everything."

The self explorer's journey can be a lonely one. This is temporary. As he or she steps into their power and possibility it pushes people away just as it draws people in who are on a similar journey. They build a tribe of other self explorers who support each other, love each other, and call each other out.

Walk your path. Take the steps. Do the work.

Everyone is a self explorer travelling at their own pace and process. So when you have discoveries of your own, be sure to share it with others.

Your life experience has value, learn from it. Your story has truth in it, tell it. And always remember that the life you gives permission and is an invitation for others to do the same.
